It’s been a pleasure witnessing the acts passing through the doors of Residence over the past few months. Using diversity to combat the increasing indifference to mainroom house the brand has brought the likes of Style of Eye, Mat Zo and Glowinthedark to Dublin in recent months. Their latest is perhaps the finest of the season. In a rare mainroom house lineup we will see both the legendary Benny Benassi and upcoming talent Felix Cartal make their Residence bows this Friday.

The signing of Benassi represents somewhat of a coup for Residence considering the fact that he remains one of the biggest names in electro house. Having utterly dominated the airwaves with his last LP Electroman the Italian veteran has spent the last two years touring extensively, bringing his distinctive brand of electro to audiences the world over. 2014 looks set to be his return to the mainstage production wise with his latest ep Back To The Pump already climbing its way up the Beatport ladder. Rumours of a new album on the way also make the prospect of his Dublin appearance an exciting one.

Alongside the legendary Italian is another sizeable name in Felix Cartal. The Canadian has enjoyed the support of everyone from Steve Aoki to Wolfgang Gartner and Benassi himself. Tracks like Tonight featuring Maya Ivarsson and Young Love feat Koko LaRoo have established a strong following for the young producer and marked him out as an exciting prospect. The unique flavour of his DJ sets make his presence on this talented lineup (alongside homegrown residents Yunisun) makes this Friday an undoubted must for fans of the mainroom. WWD recommended.
