Powered to the top by their common talent for producing deeply melodic electronic music, Joris Delacroix and the Hungry Music label have been following and meeting each others ever since their common rise in the late 2000s, and their careers have been closely linked both artistically and humanly.

Playing the piano since his early childhood in the south of France, Joris Delacroix grew up listening to the French Touch as well as the music of legendary Bar Live in Montpellier, before launching his own career and music alongside local label Way Of House. His first 2011 album ‘Room with View‘ and his last 2018 opus ‘Night Visions‘ both underline a unique universe, in which electronic and melodic sonorities melt into each other. Joris always innovates and try to follow his inspirations in order to break down barriers, as it happened once again recently with his new ‘SuperSet’ project, a stage performance containing both Live and Dj Set elements.

Inviting Joris became obvious for the french imprint Hungry Music, that always defended genreless music only defined by two credos: the power of melody and the aesthetic of producing.

With ‘Time to Lose’, Joris’ universe falls in place perfectly with the label’s imaginary, and the result is both very captivating and hypnotic. Spacial soundscapes join forces with throbbing rhythms to create a very efficient dancefloor focused track. Written and produced during a tranquil off-weekend, it sets the tone with its deep nostalgic vibe, growling bass and precise drums, while dramatic arpeggiators and melodies add to the energetic musical journey.

« This piece began during a gig-less week-end, which is pretty rare these days. I guess it came from the struggle between trying to enjoy it, and the angst of idleness. The title came from this, « Time to lose » is an hommage to inertia and the emotions behind it. In the end it came out as a quite energetic track, but it is nostalgic at the same time. » JD
