From Talavera de la Reina, electronic music producer and DJ Miguel Lobo has crafted a house sound underpinned by distinctive percussive grooves. Announcing his forthcoming ‘Moving Faces’ LP on Yousef’s seminal imprint Circus Recordings last month with his ‘Stay Awake/Another Day’ EP, he now provides a second glimpse into the forthcoming album with ‘No Plans / Set Me Free’ EP.

Affirming himself as an international artist over the past few years, releasing on well-established labels including 8Bit, Defected, and Knee Deep In Sound, Miguel joins a host of top tier producers and close affiliates of Circus Recordings including Carl Cox, Sven Väth, Marco Carola, Scuba, Green Velvet, and Steve Lawler.

Drawing from his musical and life experiences across the forthcoming album project, Miguel’s ‘No Plans/Set Me Free’ EP explores themes of spirituality that underpin both Miguel’s day to day life and his way with music.

Connecting most notably with those spiritual themes is ‘Set Me Free’. Working with Pepe Mateos and featuring Elle Blink, the track dives into the dualism traditional cultures have in regard to relationships, along with the idea of freedom in those relationships. Expressed via haunting vocals and energetic melody. Collaborating with Shyam P on ‘No Plans’, dark and moody vocals from Shyam float over warped synth arrangements and driving percussive energy to deliver a smooth and sophisticated groover.
