Renaissance celebrates 30th anniversary at Zamna Festival in Tulum, Mexico

2022 is a big year for Renaissance as it marks their 30th anniversary, so what better way to get the party started than at Mexico’s most famous venue? Beautifully set within Tulum’s Mayan jungle, Zamna’s open-air playground is the stuff of legend and their annual festival, which runs from Dec 31st through to January 9th, is always a thickly highlighted block in the calendar of any clubber.

This year Renaissance will land on the 9th and, in fitting recognition of their 30th milestone, Zamna have kindly bestowed closing party honours on the eponymous brand. “It’s a big celebration and responsibility,” says Renaissance’ Geoff Oakes, “closing out one of the most recognised festival seasons in the world is as exciting as it is daunting. We’ve deliberately gone all out and have locked some of the world’s best acts.”

And he isn’t kidding. The resulting roster is indeed a who’s who of the dance elite; a pleasing mix of renowned friends, returning guests and fresh faces. Whether the legendary pairing of Sasha & John Digweed; global supremos Artbat; or the Tulum debuts of Sven Väth (with an extended set) and Sebastien Leger’s new Modular Live show, the highlights are many in an all killer, no filler line-up that touches all discernible electronic corners as Geoff concludes, “this will be our third, and by far biggest, event at Zamna. We can’t wait to be back in the Mayan jungle!”

Artists (A-Z): Argy, Artbat, Echonomist B2B Jimi Jules, Gabriel I, Magit Cacoon, Mathame, Rodriguez Jr. Live, Roy Rosenfeld, Sasha & John Digweed, Sebastien Leger Modular Live, Sven Väth Extended Set

Residents: Sirsax, Marcus James and Badin Brothers
