Parisian electronic artist CHLOÉ and her Lumière Noire Records imprint explore new pastures in 2024, leaning into more club-focused sounds with an immersive new compilation series titled ‘Flash.’ Lumière Noire’s new VA collection welcomes a slew of international talent, providing a wave of experimental flavours with definitive underground gradients. ‘Flash Vol. 1’ plays host to four unique cuts, delivered by Danse Alice, Poppé, Leonor & Fausto, and Kike Am Radar.
Enigmatic duo Danse Alice’s ‘Dance On Your Grave’ (feat. Lucy) brings undeniably weird and wonderful energy from the outset, combining detuned analogue musicality, eerie vocals and undulating rhythmic cadence throughout. Louen Poppé’s ‘Mondor’ will be released as a single on the 15th March, to tease the VA. The track fuses retro synth stabs, rumbling modular textures, probing arps and haunting harmonies alongside a head-bobbing breakbeat foundation.
The combination of Leonor & Fausto follows with ‘Monastic’ which blends robotic nuances, pumping drum grooves, cleverly modulated acid synth lines and glitchy sonics to carve out a sci-fi-inspired basement jam before Kike Am Radar rounds off the release with ‘It’s All Lies’, bringing subtly celestial-laced chugging, weighty house vibes full of nostalgic synthesiser layers and copious, reverberated soundscapes.
