Rising US techno star Sam Wolfe returns with the blistering ‘Fake Friends,’ the lead track from ‘Mission 1’ – the first ever compilation from TAKEOFF, the recently launched label from trailblazing French producer Space 92.

“This track was actually in my graveyard for a while” says Sam. “It was an ID in my sets that was a staple for all of 2023/2024 and then I started to slow down my play style I wasn’t sure if I would release it. Fast forward to 2025, I went back into it, changed up the kick, the drums, the bassline and fell back in love with this new – groovier version. It’s one of those songs that exemplifies call and response with some of my favorite sound design.”
The single arrives ahead of Sam’s upcoming set at Resistance at London’s Drumsheds, where he’ll share the stage with Adam Beyer, Amelie Lens and Reinier Zonneveld.
