A fiercely independent artist, with a focus on releasing via Bandcamp, Romanian producer Gojnea76 has pioneered a new sub-genre with his unlikely marriage of styles, creating what has been described as a logical progression of house music.
As the head of party/label series FUEL, Gojnea76 continues to expand on his label’s already progressive and inventive nature with four new tracks that meld house, minimal and deep tech stylings to present the label’s fourth release. Arriving via digital and vinyl editions, the forthcoming project sees the Bucharest live supremo pen all four compositions on ‘Dayoung Space’, which will land on 25th November.
The bubbling percussive elements which froth and fizz whilst opening ‘Dayoung Space’ remain a constant throughout Gojnea76’s fourth FUEL EP project. But as the opening melody transitions a grinding motorised bass emerges leaving all in it’s wake to become entangled in a whirring legato of murky dub-fills, course kicks and an uneasy vocal-lines – to make for yet another standout title-track to be added to the Romanian’s swiftly developing back-catalogue.
With the inception of ‘Insecurity Check’ comes a chattering, chiming ensemble of revolving sonics to conjure a dark, cathartic grit and set a somewhat unanticipated tone. A smoky, vocal looms between measures of misty pads and sinister synth lines before the beat breaks into a choppy, fractured house anthem to cause peak-time impact at warehouse dances across the globe.
On ‘Lima Sunset’ a non-chalant vocal loop almost shrugs to a stomping groove of marching drumlines, frazzling oscillations and punchy bass chords as the beat first begins bump. A cosmic intensity pumping mix of sun-kissed melodies and piano synth doesn’t simmer and instead continues to disperse amidst a dreamy chunky-house soundscape built upon a jackin’, thudding melodies and angry, biting synth patterns.
When closing the EP, ‘Tun Tun Tun’ does so with a raw, chant ready energy from the get-go kicking off the final cut with a swarming garage/break lead. The beat builds deftly, snaking around thick bass and gently evolving pads before a twin-vocal line and a chugging, minimal pulse take hold and seeing the final track out, breezily to rolling a close.
