Little Talk with Volac

Interviews, Tech House
26 January 2026

With their new single ‘Outta Space’ now out on NELEVEN, Volac continue to refine their playful yet heavyweight approach to tech-house. Known for blending groove-driven energy with clear, accessible ideas, the duo have built a sound that’s instantly recognisable while constantly evolving.

We caught up with them to discuss the new track, their creative dynamic as a duo, life and inspiration in Brazil, and how they keep things fresh in a fast-moving scene.

WWD: Your new single ‘Outta Space’ just dropped on NELEVEN. What headspace were you in when creating this one?

When we were working on the track, we wanted to create something energetic with a clear idea, so that even someone who isn’t familiar with electronic music could understand our concept and enjoy it.

WWD: This record feels playful but still heavy on the dancefloor. Where does it sit in the wider Volac universe?

We think this comes from our experience working with different genres, such as bass and house music.

WWD: Walk us through the creative dynamic between the two of you – who usually brings the chaos and who brings the structure?

It works differently every time, but most of the time we share the same vision, which is why the ideas in our tracks are very clear and easy for our listeners to connect with.

WWD: NELEVEN is a fresh label for you. What drew you to releasing ‘Outta Space’ with them?

We really enjoy working with Peredel — we’ve played b2b together several times. During one of the shows, he heard the track and suggested releasing it on his new label, NELEVEN. We agreed immediately and are happy to support our friends and release our music with them.

WWD: You’ve released on Repopulate Mars, Off The Grid, Insomniac and more. How do you feel your sound has evolved since those early days?

Yes, our sound is constantly evolving, and we’re happy that it keeps taking on new forms, but at the same time, those who know us can still hear and recognize our style even years later.

WWD: Tech-house moves quickly. How do you keep things feeling freaky, current and still unmistakably Volac?

We often get inspired by other people’s music — it helps us stay current. We also like combining things that don’t usually go together, which is what makes our sound unique.

WWD: You’re a duo from Brazil – how does your background shape the way you produce or approach rhythm?

We’re originally a duo from Russia, but we’ve been living in Brazil for several years now. We love the Brazilian vibe, and there are great opportunities here to work, make music, and play it. In our opinion, different music is popular in Russia right now –  more aggressive and constantly intense. In Brazil and many other countries, groove-based music is more popular. That’s the main difference.

WWD: Is there a moment on tour recently that reminded you why you make music in the first place?

We always look forward to tours and shows, because our biggest passion is hearing and testing our music on the dancefloor. It always reminds us that we’re doing everything right.

WWD: You’ve been working together for over a decade. What’s the biggest advantage of being a duo creatively?

The main advantage is supporting each other and being honest with one another, as well as sharing the same views on music.

WWD: If you could play a Volac set anywhere in the world next month – no logistics, no limits – where would you choose?

As cliché as it may sound, we’ve never played in Ibiza, Spain. We’d really love to play there.

WWD: Looking ahead, is there a sound, collaboration, or direction you’re excited to explore in 2026?

This year we have a lot of releases planned. We can’t talk about specific collaborations yet, but they’re definitely in the works.

WWD: We’ll definitely keep our ears open! Thanks for the chat 🙂
