Two generations of techno and house collide as Tara Brooks and Dantiez Saunderson unveil their electrifying remix of ‘Frisk’ — the iconic club weapon from Patrick Topping and legendary Kevin Saunderson. Out January 9th via Armada Music, this fresh take breathes new energy into the original with pulsating grooves, warped synths, and a deep warehouse vibe that pays homage to Detroit while driving it into the future.
The remix marks the first release in a special remix series from Tara and Dantiez, who have joined forces to rework selections from the historic KMS Records catalog, now under Armada’s banner. Blending Tara’s hypnotic, psychedelic signature with Dantiez’s techno roots and rhythmic precision, their version of “Frisk” is built for dark rooms, peak hours, and sound systems that like it loud.
“This remix was a full-circle moment for both of us,” says Tara. “We wanted to honor the legacy of this track while making something that hits hard on modern dancefloors.”
“My dad’s original work on this track had such a rawness to it,” adds Dantiez. “It felt special to reshape that energy with Tara and bring a fresh but familiar take to a new generation of ravers.”
Expect more from the duo soon, with additional reworks of Saunderson classics lined up for late 2025.
