The final chapter before PETRU KSS unveils his debut album arrives with a powerful new statement, and today we premiere Dubfire’s remix taken from Kolibri Live Part 3, out via Kolibri Space Shuttle Records.
Serving as the closing transmission ahead of the full Kolibri Live LP, this third installment brings the journey to its most intense and expressive point. Alongside PETRU KSS, the release welcomes two artists whose presence elevates the project’s closing arc in distinct ways: Dubfire, a defining figure of modern techno with decades of influential releases behind him, and .VRIL, celebrated for his immersive, textural approach to sound design.
At the heart of the chapter sits ‘Trappist’, a track built around shifting melodic layers and a luminous central motif that slowly tightens its grip as hypnotic tension unfolds. For today’s premiere, Dubfire strips the composition down to its most essential elements and reshapes it into a dark, razor-focused rework, guided by surgical precision and a relentless sense of drive. The result is a version that amplifies the original’s intensity while pushing it firmly into late-night, high-pressure territory.
The wider release continues to expand the sonic universe of the project. PETRU KSS delivers his own Grit Mix of Trappist, transforming the track into a faster, chaotic and fiercely raw interpretation, driven by nervous energy and unrestrained acid lines. On the other side of the record, ‘Capsule’ opens with a memorable melodic motif that anchors a deep, atmospheric exploration, later reimagined by .VRIL into a spacious, sunrise-leaning drift infused with warm, old-school character.
Planned for March 2026, Kolibri Live LP marks a major milestone for PETRU KSS. His debut album was recorded live in the wild landscapes of Corsica and conceived as a journey from nature to space. Mixed by Hannes Bieger and mastered at Calyx, the project reflects Kolibri’s dedication to craftsmanship, storytelling and immersive electronic music.
