Richie Blacker returns to Sasha’s label Last Night On Earth, collaborating with No_4mat and Loew to deliver EP ‘Love Asylum’, releasing March 13th. Blacker’s unique style sits at the intersection of melodic house and techno, built from the Irish underground, with nods to the 90’s rave tracks he was raised on.
Opener ‘Love Asylum’ is charged with ascending chords and keys that dart through clouded lyrics of love and desire.
Track two ‘Delphi’ and track 3 ‘You Think You Know Me’ with No_4ma build tension with breakbeat snares scattered behind bubbling synths, as aired out vocals take centre stage. NYC-based artist and producer No_4mat draws inspiration from House, Techno, and video game scores, creating endless dream-like loops. Loew’s remix of ‘Love Ayslum’ is a slick Percussive House-leaning rendition, filled with swinging drums and electro jabs. Melancholic and hopeful melodies fill the EP, delivering four emotive club tracks.
Coined BBC Radio 1’s “Future Fire Artist” in 2021, Blacker has since become a prominent name in House and Techno, with releases on Anjunabeats, Armada Music, AC1D, and his own label Mess Express, where he continues to explore the realms of Techno and House. As a DJ, he has played at major venues, Pikes, Printworks, and Chinois, gaining support from renowned DJs Sasha, John Digweed, Groove Armada, and Skream.
