French-Swiss, Brussels-based producer and DJ Baka G returns to SEVEN, the Berlin label co-founded by CRYME and Glenn Elliott, with a new EP that showcases her unique blend of influences. A classically trained musician who spent eight years studying violin at Lausanne’s Conservatory before shifting her focus to the club, she has developed a sound rooted in Disco, Latin, tribal, soulful, and old-school Garage that stays warm, musical, and dancefloor-ready.
Her ‘No Breaks All Fun’ EP, due on April 10th, opens with a silky deep house title track where intimate vocal whispers and lush string stabs set a tone of closeness and depth, designed for long blends and late-night moments. The second original, ‘Clavel’, moves at a slightly faster tempo but retains the same refined feel, pairing smooth chord work with a rolling bassline and layered vocals that add emotional weight without disrupting the flow.
For the remixes, SEVEN taps into its own roster. Amsterdam-based Retromigration, who previously appeared on the label’s SEVENVA02 compilation, transforms ‘No Breaks All Fun’ into a thumping yet warm house workout, driven by dry claps, surging chords, and subtle tribal undertones. Zombies in Miami deliver a swinging, syncopated rework full of soulful pads and cosmic flourishes, while Canadian producer Andre Zimmer rounds things out with a textured, timeless house jam as a digital bonus.
