Irish-born producer and DJ Luciid has spent the past few years carving out a singular space inside electronic music, rising on the strength of the hard techno movement before quietly outgrowing its boundaries. With his debut album REELUV arriving on 22nd May 2026 via Be Yourself Music, he sets a much wider stage. Thirteen tracks deep, plus a bonus Schranz edit, the record moves through schranz, breakbeat, melodic techno, hard techno, euphoric trance, and cinematic electronics, framed as a personal journey rather than a club tools collection. Today, we share an exclusive premiere of ‘Mein Dunkle Nacht’, one of the more shadowed corners of the album.

‘Mein Dunkle Nacht’ leans into the cinematic side of REELUV. Warehouse-grade kicks anchor the groove while a trance-tinged atmosphere drifts overhead, the kind of emotional weight that has come to define this new chapter of Luciid’s sound. Translated from German as ‘My Dark Night’, the title fits the album’s themes of disillusionment and reckoning, capturing a moment of introspection before the record eventually pulls back toward light. It is hard, but it is also patient, designed to live in long sets and longer headphone listens alike.

REELUV arrives off the back of remarkable momentum. The first three EPs from the project have already gathered over two million combined streams, and Luciid now commands more than one million monthly listeners on Spotify. Singles ‘Hard Truths’, ‘Pray’ and ‘Charm’ all charted in the Beatport Hard Techno Top 10, confirming the project’s impact long before the full album landed. Rather than dropping it all at once, Luciid chose a deliberate multi-step rollout, asking listeners to slow down and engage with each piece on its own terms.

The album was written during a period of creative burnout and personal reckoning, documenting Luciid’s journey from disillusionment back to a genuine love of music. Some tracks, like ‘6AM’ and ‘Sakura’, were made during the pandemic while he was studying in Dundalk; others took shape in hotel rooms on tour across Europe. As he puts it, the record is about falling back in love with music as an art form, a quiet rebuttal to the swipe-culture pressure that has pulled his scene toward online attention over the music itself.

Be Yourself Music has been the perfect home for this evolution. The Dutch institution, founded in 2005, has spent the past two decades shaping the wider electronic landscape across multiple sublabels and styles. Backing a project as ambitious and genre-fluid as REELUV speaks to the label’s long-standing willingness to follow its artists wherever their vision leads, and the result is one of the most distinctive techno statements of the year.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Mein Dunkle Nacht’ exclusively on When We Dip Radio. Enjoy!
