Some tracks arrive fully formed. ‘We Dance’ was not one of them, and that patient build is exactly what makes it land so well. Munich-based producer Sonson sent a batch of ideas and sketches over to his longtime friend and vocalist Rosa Taccarelli. One of them slowly but surely grew into ‘We Dance’, the lead track of Sonson’s second drop on Lossless and Rosa’s very first recorded release.

‘We Dance’ is hypnotic analogue house with a modern punch. Built around the warmth of a Roland Juno-106, it goes deep while still hitting hard, a production made to keep the floor moving. Rosa Taccarelli’s vocals provide the lift that turns the groove into a genuine moment. For the working DJ, an instrumental version brings even more options to the table. ‘Faraway’, the EP’s second cut, flips the mood entirely, a moving, chord-driven house track with proper edge that rounds the release out nicely.

The EP marks Sonson’s second outing on Lossless, following earlier work on Diynamic, Compost Records, and Eastern Standard. Based in Munich, Michael Heumann has been a fixture of the city’s electronic music scene since the 2000s. His sound has evolved considerably over the years, but the instinct driving it has stayed exactly the same.

Lossless, the imprint founded by Mathias Schober and Thomas Herb, has long been a trusted home for deep, timeless house, and this release sits perfectly within its catalogue. With ‘We Dance’, the label welcomes one of its own back into the fold.
