Montreal keeps turning out electronic music that favours patience over spectacle, and Nights of Solace is the newest imprint to carry that instinct forward. The young label steps out with Tides Volume I, its very first release, and we are delighted to premiere Elias Erium’s contribution to it, ‘Hypnotic Induction’.

The title is a promise the track keeps. ‘Hypnotic Induction’ is built as a rising current, a driving groove that locks in from the opening bar and never once loosens its grip. Percussion loops fold over one another until they stop reading as rhythm and start reading as suggestion, while the lead climbs steadily above them, gaining altitude across the full seven minutes without ever reaching for a conventional drop. There is no wasted motion here. Everything points in the same direction, and the result is one of those tracks that quietly rearranges the energy of a room, the kind a DJ reaches for when the set needs momentum rather than a moment.

‘Hypnotic Induction’ arrives as part of Tides Volume I, the debut release from Nights of Solace and a clear statement of intent from the Montreal outfit. Nights of Solace works as both a record label and an event series, curating around emotional impact rather than trend, and it sums up its remit as the energy that moves through a room, the moment a track makes time disappear. The imprint plans to release sparingly and deliberately, building around community, creativity and integrity, and Tides Volume I sets that tone with music made for the deeper hours of the night.

Elias Erium is a natural fit for that opening chapter. The Montreal producer, DJ and label head behind Phenomena has spent the past few years carving out a distinctive space between progressive house and techno, releasing on imprints including Coldharbour Recordings, Steyoyoke and YOMO Records while picking up support from the likes of Adriatique, Nick Warren, Mind Against, Markus Schulz and Armin van Buuren. His productions tend to prize depth and detail over shortcuts, and ‘Hypnotic Induction’ is a fine example of that approach: technically precise, emotionally direct and clearly built to be felt on a proper system.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Hypnotic Induction’ exclusively on When We Dip Radio. Enjoy!
