Constant Circles, the Brighton based imprint run by Just Her, continues its forward looking journey with D.Y.F.I.T, the first collaborative EP from C.Vogt and Sofian. After two decades of friendship, shared DJ booths and endless creative exchange, the pair finally bring their chemistry to record, drawing on the communal spirit of late 80s and early 90s New York house and the deeper pull of techno. The EP features three original productions alongside remixes from Just Her and Lauren Ritter.
In its original form, ‘Girl Got Lashes’ dives into deep acid house territory, pairing a hypnotic groove with classic chords and a vocal led breakdown. For her take, NYC artist Lauren Ritter leans into her hardware based production approach, delivering a chunkier, more driving reinterpretation that keeps the original’s house sensibilities fully intact. Squelching acid lines, a muscular low end and a relentless groove make this a version built for peak time moments, while still carrying the warmth and soul that defines the record.
Elsewhere on the EP, ‘Do You Feel It Too’ rides a low slung groove under classic house chords and vocals, recalling the safe spaces where house music first flourished, with Just Her shifting it into more techno tinged, club focused territory. Closing track ‘You’re Not Both’ sits between house and deep techno, putting the duo’s genre blending instincts front and center.
Lauren Ritter is a New York based DJ and producer known for her personal, groove driven blend of minimal, melodic house and tech house. A ReSolute NYC resident and long time All Day I Dream artist, her releases on Lee Burridge’s label earned support on several BBC Radio 1 Essential Mixes. In 2020 she launched her own imprint, Rift Vision, and she continues to play everywhere from Robot Heart and Zamna to All Day I Dream Ibiza.
The release is paired with original artwork from Martín Shiah, whose nocturnal, handmade collage aesthetic nods to the clubs, warehouses, graffiti and street art of New York. It is another strong chapter for Constant Circles, a label built on an unquenchable thirst for the underground and the sounds of the past, the future and everything in between.
