Soma Skool, Soma Record’s annual electronic music conference and showcase event, has revealed the full line-up for its 2022 edition this September. After three years without an in-person event, this year’s conference features an impressive roster of artists, from the most exciting emerging local acts to international heavyweights, along with a whole host of industry professionals from across the electronic music scene.

Returning to Glasgow’s SWG3 warehouse complex, Soma Skool is a full day of discussions, demos, workshops and masterclasses. The main artist panel will see Berlin-based producer and one of Europe’s most in demand DJs Hector Oaks, join Glasgow’s own champions of techno and Soma Records head honchos Slam to discuss what catalysed their success as artists.

Focusing on the city’s thriving music scene, the Underground Glasgow panel, hosted by The Skinny’s Nadia Younes, features some of the country’s most formidable talents. One of the most hotly-tipped artists to emerge from Scotland in the last few years, Tahliah Simumba – aka TAAHLIAH – will join this year’s inaugural BBC Introducing Scottish Act of the Year Award winner Bemz, Sub Club resident Butho The Warrior and Glasgow based Iranian DJ and producer Farnaz.

Hosted by disability activist Katouche Goll, the Accessible Clubbing panel features DJ and radio presenter Def Beatz; DJ, producer and stalwart of Ireland’s underground scene DefeKT; disability led charity Attitude Is Everything and Leeds-based selector, sound artist and access activist SAYANG.

In SWG3’s TV Studio, Subsine Academy of Electronic Music will be hosting an Ableton DJ masterclass with d.a.v.e the drummer, while Electro artist NITE FLEIT conducts an Ableton production masterclass. In the Photography Studio, Resident Advisor’s Managing Editor Chloe Lula will be hosting a series of in depth music journalism workshops exploring how to land a pitch, write a compelling feature and answer any questions on music journalism as a career path. Jaded London resident Charles Green, who owns his own agency called Omni-artists with a roster boasting VTSS, Bjarki, Mama Snake and Manni Dee, will also be hosting a special artist agent workshop.

In the Poetry Club room, PIONEER DJ completely take over the space with their own equipment for people to try out, along with live local DJ’s performing on the day from Skapade Studios, and demo’s for their latest DJM V-10 Mixer and CDJ-3000, with product specialist Sam Shepherd, DJ’s Stephen Kirkwood and Chloe Lula.

On top of all this, Soma Skool 2022 will be hosting an entire online version of proceedings, featuring pre-recorded masterclasses from the best in the business, including Soma Records artists TEMUDO and Aida Arko, as well as Soma mastering engineer Conor Dalton and DJ and producer Theo Nasa. These will be sent to ticket holders to watch back anytime from the 3rd September. All panels, Ableton masterclasses, the RA music Journalism workshop and Omni-artist workshop, will be available for ticket holders to watch back from the 19th of September.

Soma Skool tickets available on Resident Advisor. Tickets for the Pressure afterparty with Slam, Héctor Oaks, KlangKuenstler and LISALÖÖF available HERE.
