Tom Banner returns to Musique de Lune with the ‘Love Remains / Too Late’ EP, a deeply personal and textural journey that leans into feeling over form.
‘Love Remains’ opens the release as an emotional, experimental, vocal-driven cut. Chopped and pitch-shifted vocals float through the arrangement, while unsynchronized delays, modulated independently across left and right channels, create subtle psychoacoustic tension and movement.
On ‘Too Late,’ Banner explores a rawer UK-influenced sound, nodding to Burial while drawing inspiration from Australian artist Oliver Henry. Built around evolving layers of piano, hang drum arpeggios, and organic textures, the track slowly crescendos into a delicate, Four Tet-inspired harp motif, balancing intimacy with forward momentum.
The EP is rounded out with a remix of ‘Love Remains’ from Mauro Masi, the Buenos Aires-based producer known for his organic, emotionally driven approach to dance music. Masi reshapes the original into a warm, hypnotic journey, reinforcing its emotional core while guiding it toward the dancefloor.
‘Love Remains / Too Late’ is about connection, atmosphere, and music that lingers long after the final note. You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Love Remains’ exclusively on When We Dip Radio. Enjoy!
