fabric Records has dropped their latest VA compilation fabric SELECTS VI featuring an array of records from a selection of underground electronic music producers The Trip, Scarlett O’Malley, Mella Dee, Baby Rollen, Daisy Moon and more out on 20th February.
The VA compilation combines a wide-ranging selection of rising artists across the UK house and electronic music scene. Championing sounds of the club, fabric SELECTS VI enlists the talent from Mella Dee, Scarlett O’Malley, Yazmina, Andre Zimmer, Strath, Burnski & Kepler, Vitess, The Trip, Sopp, A For Alpha, Kim April, Baby Rollen, Body Clinic, Kitsa, Harry Wills and Daisy Moon.
Stand out tracks include The Trip’s 90’s infused house record ‘House Tool’, choppy four-to-floor beats blend seamlessly with an infectious beat, perfect for the dancefloor. Doncaster selector Mella Dee shares his deep minimal cut ‘Invasion’, a record that is reminiscent of the late-night club. Club Cowgirl front-woman Scarlett O’Malley’s tech house groover ‘5AM Operator’ infuses latin inspired house music with a grooving bassline. Genre-fluid producer Yazmina follows with her deep house cut ‘Energy’, following the theme of an underground vibe. Canadian artist Andre Zimmer brings the heat with tech-house heater ‘Fundamental’, whilst Burnski & Kepler continue to build the momentum of club-fused wafters, their record ‘Apollo’ is hotly tipped to be a firm club favourite, kicking off the year. South London-based producer Baby Rollen encapsulates his signature sound of deep tech with stand-out track ‘Room Three’ whilst Harry Wills delivers uplifting heater ‘Churn’.
Since its launch in 1999, London’s legendary nightclub fabric has been at the forefront of electronic music, showcasing trailblazing artists week in, week out. The club’s musical identity extends across fabric Records and its three imprints: fabric Originals, FABRICLIVE, and Houndstooth, each reflecting the cutting edge of underground sound. With the launch of fabric SELECTS in 2022 under the fabric Originals imprint, the label takes a fresh approach to the club’s musical curation. Moving away from traditional DJ mixes, the series focuses on original tracks from both established and emerging underground artists. Each volume is carefully curated to capture the energy, diversity, and momentum of the dancefloor, offering a snapshot of the current scene through fabric’s ears rather than a single DJ’s set.
A stellar compilation of the scene’s most underground records, fabric Records delivers another innovating VA compilation with fabric SELECTS VI.
You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Apollo’ by Burnski & Kepler exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
