Today on When We Dip Magazine, we’re pleased to premiere the ‘Loveland (Gorkiz Remix)’, a deep and driving reinterpretation from Brazilian producer Gorkiz, taken from the upcoming remix package of Nick Warren’s acclaimed album Turbulence.
Following the strong reception of Turbulence, Warren invited a selection of his favourite producers to reinterpret tracks from the album, each choosing a piece that resonated with them personally. The result is a diverse remix collection that highlights different corners of the underground electronic spectrum.
Our focus today lands on Gorkiz’s take on ‘Loveland’. Known for his refined progressive productions, Gorkiz reshapes the original into a hypnotic and groove-driven journey. Built around a warm rolling bassline and layered melodic textures, the remix gradually unfolds with subtle tension and fluid arrangement work, maintaining the emotional spirit of the original while steering it firmly toward the dancefloor.
The remix package also includes a wide range of interpretations from respected artists across the scene. Danish producer Mikkelrev delivers a playful and quirky house reinterpretation of the album’s title track ‘Turbulence’, following the spirit of his recent EP on Moodmusic Records. Meanwhile, Japan’s enigmatic Atmosfelix also revisits Loveland, transforming it into a rich downtempo journey filled with psychedelic textures.
Further highlights come from Zankee Gulati, who crafted an intro mix of Cobble Pot at the request of Hernan Cattaneo for his 2025 Buenos Aires Sunsetstrip show. Irish producer Cygnol brings his signature electro style to the same track, blending classic and modern influences, while Miss Melera delivers a powerful peak-time club version.
Completing the collection, Japanese house veteran Satoshi Fumi reimagines Siete Lagos as a smooth and elegant house cut — perfectly suited for warm summer sets.
Among this strong lineup of reinterpretations, Gorkiz’s remix of Loveland stands out as a deeply immersive progressive rework that captures the essence of Nick Warren’s original vision while adding his own signature touch.
