Abellum continues to shape its artistic identity with ‘Echoes of Babylon,’ the label’s second Various Artists compilation, arriving on March 27th. Following the debut VA inspired by Ancient Egypt, this new chapter travels further along the timeline of history to explore the mysticism and grandeur of the Mesopotamian Empire.

The Abellum VA series is conceived as a chronological homage to the great civilizations that have marked human culture. Each release interprets the spirit of an empire through contemporary electronic music, creating a bridge between ancestral imagery and forward-thinking sound design. ‘Echoes of Babylon’ embodies this concept with a deep, evocative atmosphere that reflects the power, mythology, and innovation of ancient Mesopotamia.

The compilation brings together a carefully curated lineup of artists – Ian Ludvig, Trecemonos, Aliot, Mumboi, Hilat, and Tolu – whose tracks share a common musical vision. While each producer contributes a distinctive voice, the release maintains a cohesive narrative, blending hypnotic rhythms, immersive textures, and melodic intensity to form a unified statement within today’s electronic scene.

With this second VA, Abellum reaffirms its commitment to meaningful concept-driven releases that go beyond the dancefloor, aiming to deliver a standout project that resonates with DJs, listeners, and collectors alike.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Lose Control’, by Ian Ludvig, exclusively on When We Dip Radio. Enjoy!
