Lauren Steel is back with the Tamango Records family! One year after her debut on the label, the London-based house talent returns in the driver’s seat with ‘Purple Haze’, the title track of her brand new EP.
Over the last couple of years, Lauren Steel has emerged as one of the names to watch in today’s European minimal and tech sound. Her bass-driven, funky and groovy productions have quickly caught the attention of heavyweights such as Jamie Jones, East End Dubs and, of course, Tamango boss Yaya, earning her regular spots in their sets.
‘Purple Haze’ radiates energy from the very first second. Funky motifs and hooky vocals ride over a rolling, bass-heavy groove, capturing Lauren’s recognisable style and her clear club-focused identity. It is a direct and functional record shaped for the dancefloor, the kind of track that keeps a room moving deep into the night.
The EP consists of four originals in total, with ‘Purple Haze’ joined by ‘Time To Go’, ‘This City’ and ‘No Worries’, each one carrying the same playful energy and underground attitude.
Led by Yaya, Tamango Records has built a strong reputation for groovy, stripped-back and forward-thinking house music, championing both established artists and fresh talents. Welcoming Lauren Steel back to the fold, the label adds another bold, dancefloor-ready chapter to its catalogue.
You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Purple Haze’ exclusively on When We Dip Radio. Enjoy!
