Luca Marchese makes his debut on Octopus Recordings with ‘Universal Gateway,’ a two-track EP that balances driving techno foundations with flashes of trance-infused melody.

A lifelong connection to music, beginning with classical and jazz influences before discovering electronic music in his teens, has shaped Marchese’s instinct for melody and harmony, which comes through across the release.

The title track builds patiently around a locked-in kick and slow-moving arpeggio, allowing the tension to accumulate before opening into a more expansive melodic breakdown.

On ‘Exogenesis,’ the focus shifts towards a hypnotic, snaking bassline, with subtle lead work cutting through at key moments. Together, the two tracks showcase a producer comfortable with building tension while keeping the groove firmly in focus.
