Some records earn their stripes long before they reach the shelves, and ‘Movin’ is one of them. For much of the summer, COCO boss SOSA has been leaning on HIFI’s debut single across some of the biggest dates in his calendar, from Paradise, ANTS and Music On in Ibiza to his recent back-to-back with Joseph Capriati at Creamfields. After a season of heavy road testing, the track now lands on his label as the first official release from the Jeddah-based DJ and producer.

HIFI has quickly become a name to watch in Saudi Arabia’s fast-growing electronic scene. She has played key events including MDL Beast’s Soundstorm Festival, warmed up for Keinemusik at the UNESCO World Heritage site of AlUla and featured in Vogue Arabia, and ‘Movin’ now introduces the production side of an artist already making her presence felt on home soil.

True to its title, ‘Movin’ is all about momentum. Lively percussion drives the record from the very first bar, with rolling rhythms and bursts of energy keeping the pressure high while a big vocal and a bouncy groove give it real peak-time punch. It stays direct and uncluttered throughout, letting the drums lead and punctuate the groove. The single lands as COCO053 on the label founded by Liverpool-born SOSA, an imprint that has become a key player in the minimal and deep tech space with chart-topping releases and sold-out parties across the UK, Europe and the United States.
