Argentinian selector Mariano Mellino is gearing up for a major new chapter. The Buenos Aires artist has announced his forthcoming album ‘CONTACTO’, a project where every sound opens a door, every melody connects with another, and music becomes a true meeting point. Today we are thrilled to share its second single, ‘Communion’, a collaboration with Spanish DJ and producer Henry Saiz, landing on Mariano’s very own imprint, Audioholics Records.
Built around a hypnotic breakdown that slowly builds tension before giving way to a powerful drop, ‘Communion’ is made for those peak moments on the dancefloor and slots perfectly into any Progressive House set. Its vocals echo the central idea behind the album: creating a sense of connection and contact between people through music. With two of the most respected names in the progressive sound joining forces, the title could not be more fitting.
Since starting out at 19, inspired by the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, John Digweed and Sasha, Mariano Mellino has become one of the leading voices of Argentina’s progressive scene, with releases on Bedrock, Sudbeat, Global Underground, Renaissance and Balance, and a touring schedule that takes him across Latin America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Madrid born Henry Saiz needs little introduction: the founder of Natura Sonoris, crowned Best Label by DJ Mag in 2011, he has released on Bedrock and Renaissance, delivered an acclaimed mix for the Balance series and taken his live band project around the world.
Based in Buenos Aires, Audioholics Records is the label arm of Mariano’s Audioholics brand, whose events have grown from Argentina’s biggest clubs to stages in Australia and the Amsterdam Dance Event. ‘Communion’ is a perfect showcase of what the label is all about.
