Aus Music and fabric Records join forces once again for ‘Angel’, the second single lifted from their collaborative VA EP ‘Room 02’, and this time the spotlight falls on eclectic Swedish artist Bella Boo. Following SYREETA and Huxley’s ‘We Synthesize’, the track offers a fresh glimpse into the forthcoming EP, adding Bella’s unmistakable melodic touch to the project.
‘Angel’ is a dreamy, euphoric rush built from jungle breaks, warm synths, zippy melodies and soft acid lines. Moving between intricate rhythms and hazy textures, it skips from breakbeat energy into softer, more psychedelic moments, with off-kilter grooves carrying an infectious sense of joy from start to finish. The track was born on a full moon night in a beach cabin in Österlen, in the south of Sweden, after Bella spent two weeks in the woods by the sea. “It was a full moon the night I made the track, and the reflection of the moon in the water was like a golden road,” she explains, a sight the Swedes call “mångata”. That magical feeling runs right through the record.
Bella Boo’s musical world stretches far beyond the club. She grew up playing piano and cello, soaking up everything from R&B, soul and jazz to punk, reggae and pop, before finding her way into Stockholm’s club scene. Since her 2018 debut she has kept refining a distinctive sound, balancing club-focused rhythms with a personal, exploratory approach, and has taken it to dancefloors including Panorama Bar, Printworks and fabric. ‘Angel’ marks her return to Aus Music following her Shakedown EP for the label earlier this year.
Founded by Will Saul in 2006, Aus Music has long been a home for club-ready music with a cultured edge, helping to launch artists such as Bicep, George FitzGerald and Dusky. For more than 15 years the label held a quarterly residency in fabric’s Room 2, a vital platform for emerging talent and a testing ground for house, garage and bass, with highlights ranging from Joy Orbison’s fabric debut to the first ever CLOSE Live show from Will Saul. As that residency comes to a close, ‘Room 02’ opens a new chapter between Aus Music and fabric Records, uniting established names and contemporary underground talent, with the full VA EP arriving later this month.
