As rave babies, Eli and Charlie learned the history of dance music from Boston legends DJ Bruno, Kon and Caril Mitro, who taught them that “house wears many hats.” Then at the Marcy Hotel in Brooklyn, they joined forces with Wolf + Lamb to form Crew Love and blasted off into the stratosphere.
Since their intergalactic journey began, Soul Clap has released three albums, curated editions of DJ Kicks, Fabric and Watergate mix series’ and collaborated with some of the greatest: George Clinton, Nona Hendryx, Louie Vega. They also run Soul Clap Records an home for all things funky and host the touring party and label House Of EFUNK, while paying beyond musical boundaries to make a positive impact on people and planet by working with non-profits DJs For Climate Action and Give A Beat.
Adding to their ever-evolving catalogue, the house visionaries return to Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels with a deeply groovy and emotionally charged new release, teaming up with South Florida’s rising star Haven Star for the striking ‘Gone Stumblin’ – ushering in a new chapter of collaboration and cosmic storytelling.
The EP comes just in time for the legendary Movement Detroit weekend, where the duo are set to host their 11th House Of EFUNK after-party over the course of 2 days. With some a slew of the scene’s most revered innovators making an appearance – think Stacey Pullen, Axel Boman, Dam Swindle, Chloe Caillet, Chaos In The CBD, and Matthew Dear – they continue the raise the bar and keep things ever-fresh.
To cap off this wild week, Soul Clap slide onto our Main Mix with divine Detroit vibes. It’s a masterclass in nuance; laced with stirring, slow-burning funk and dosed with just the right amount of dancefloor heat. Enjoy!
