All Day I Dream opens the year with ‘The Universe’, a cosmic four-track EP from Barcelona-based producer/DJ Makebo.

Woven with textured sound design and warped synthwork, ‘The Universe’ presents a detailed and deliberate journey shaped by contrast and progression across its 32 minutes. The title track sets the foundation with crunchy low-end and hypnotic percussion that steadily pulls the listener inward. ‘Galaxy’ follows with buoyant rhythms that introduce a sense of lift, while ‘Save Me’ deepens the mood with gritty basslines and mystical vocals, adding emotional weight without disrupting the EP’s flow. Closing with ‘Birth Of A New Sun,’ Makebo delivers a club-driven finale that encapsulates The Universe’s expansive, forward-moving themes.

Makebo is a producer and DJ based in Barcelona. Since establishing the project in 2018, he has released on Anjunadeep, Lost Miracle, and Shanti Radio, launched his Rubicunda imprint with Amonita, and earned support from Lee Burridge, Sébastien Léger, Roy Rosenfeld, Tim Green, Khen, and more. Makebo first appeared on All Day I Dream’s A Winter Sampler in 2019, returning for A Winter Sampler II and Summer Sampler before releasing his debut EP ‘Skyline’ on the label in 2021. ‘The Universe’ marks his latest contribution to Lee Burridge’s label All Day I Dream.
