Today on When We Dip Radio, we premiere ‘sLEdger – Hardcore Angel (Fauxplay Remix)’, out via the ever-forward-thinking label Music To Die For.

Originally circulated last summer as an ultra-limited two-copy promo sent exclusively to Sasha and Nick Warren, Hardcore Angel immediately found its way into some of the scene’s most respected sets, with Sasha championing the track at landmark moments including Tofte Manor and 528 Ibiza. From the very beginning, the record has carried a rare kind of momentum, driven not by hype, but by genuine dancefloor reaction.

At its core, Hardcore Angel draws directly from the raw power of early-to-mid-90s hardcore rave culture. Crashing breakbeats, oversized stabs and a fierce sense of urgency form the backbone of the track, while sLEdger’s trademark progressive refinement smooths the edges into something unmistakably modern. It’s a hybrid that resists easy classification, sitting somewhere between rave memory, breakbeat energy and contemporary progressive design.

For this new interpretation, Fauxplay takes the original into darker, heavier and more expansive territory. His remix transforms Hardcore Angel into a fully-fledged progressive dancefloor weapon, building tension through muscular low-end, carefully sculpted atmospheres and a slow-burn structure designed for peak-time impact. The result is a remix that doesn’t simply reframe the original, but reconstructs it into a new, high-pressure club experience.

Behind sLEdger is London-based producer Robin Dallison, whose long-standing career has spanned multiple aliases including Dobbs, Rob Vision and The Escapist, with releases on labels such as Global Underground, Soundgarden, Tici Taci and Redshift. Originally a drummer before being drawn into the UK rave movement, Dallison’s productions reflect a lifetime of underground influence — blending progressive, breakbeat, indie dance, dubby Balearic tones and deep electronic textures into a sound that consistently avoids genre boundaries. His work has been supported by figures including John Digweed, Annie Nightingale, Mary Anne Hobbs, Laurent Garnier, Sean Johnston, Nick Warren and, most recently, Sasha, whose early support was pivotal in bringing Hardcore Angel to release on Music To Die For.

On remix duties, Fauxplay continues his rapid rise as one of the label’s defining artists. Since breaking through in 2022 with his debut ‘Touch The Sky EP’, which topped the Beatport Melodic House & Techno charts, Fauxplay has built a reputation for sophisticated, emotionally charged productions that move effortlessly between progressive, deep house and breaks. His catalogue has earned widespread support from Sasha, John Digweed, Marsh, Nick Warren, Anthony Pappa, Gai Barone, Guy Mantzur and many more, establishing him as a consistent and versatile force within the modern underground.

With heavyweight backing already coming from Sasha, Marsh, Paul Thomas, Nick Warren, Nicolas Rada, Aubrey Fry, Spencer Brown, Anthony Pappa, Just Her and Danny Howells, the Fauxplay remix of Hardcore Angel stands as a powerful meeting point between rave heritage and contemporary progressive club culture.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘sLEdger – Hardcore Angel (Fauxplay Remix)’ exclusively on When We Dip Rado. Enjoy.
