Collé is back, and he has brought something special with him. The Dutch producer returns with ‘Hold Me Closer’, an infectious new single landing on MINDGAME Records on October 16th, and one that marks another step up in an already impressive career.
‘Hold Me Closer’ is an elastic, bouncy house cut with a gentle melancholic edge. Rolling along at 128 BPM, it pairs fizzy synths and rising melodies with snippets of vocals that build towards an emotive finish. It is masterfully produced, light on its feet yet full of feeling, and the kind of record whose mood stays with you long after the last bar has faded.
Collé has spent years shaping a sound centred on emotion and depth, working across a range of styles while drawing on his own musical experience and cultural influences. His breakthrough came in 2018 with the anthem ‘Owami’, which was heavily supported by Solomun, Âme and Black Coffee, while ‘Kupata’ later found its way into Keinemusik sets. Plays from Bedouin have followed, and his catalogue now includes releases on Anjunadeep, Stil vor Talent, trueColors, Balance, Human by Default, Calamar Records, Siamese and Zamna. He is also one of the creative minds behind Point in Time, a label focused on vocal electronic music that steers clear of clichés, and has taken his sound to stages at Tomorrowland, Pacha and Mysteryland.
MINDGAME Records is the label of Parisian duo Birds of Mind, a home for emotive, dancefloor focused house that has grown into a trusted name over the past five years. Alongside releases from artists such as Shouk, GIOE, SIB, KOBAIEN and SKAR, the imprint runs its MINDSET podcast series and has hosted showcases in Paris, Ibiza, Mykonos and Dubai, with a five year anniversary celebration coming up in Amsterdam this October.
You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Hold Me Closer’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
