With his MB Elektronics imprint returning after a lengthy hiatus, kicking things off last month with a new single from Aphrohead; label boss Marco Bailey steps into the fray with a brand new three track selection… 

First up, title track ‘You Have To Take Action’ takes its call to arms seriously. Acid techno meets synth hypnosis. Unrelenting and powerful, this dancefloor-tailored tune wraps up a lifetime of exploration through different sounds, showcasing Bailey’s ever impressive skill for taking a few core elements and stretching them to their limit.

Next, ‘Energized’ sees Marco rework one of his own electro cuts from 2004, updating it for the current aesthetics of the contemporary dancefloor. A pure funk workout with lazer synths and its roughly cut samples layering big beats and booming bass. A weighty cut for the tougher soldiers of the dance.

Finally, ‘Sinus’ brings a more linear dance floor structure. Wobbling, fluctuating bass builds as stiff ticks and snares create a rhythmic, chugging techno cut. As the track rumbles on, cymbal crashes and 90s-esque melodic toplines add to the track’s energetic drive.

Bailey continues the same eclectic path that has seen him release a mountain of personal productions over the last 25 years. ‘You Have to Take Action’ is the latest weapon in this restless producer’s ever-growing arsenal of dancefloor sounds.
