Javier Portilla and Sotela team up with vocalist, Emalaine, on ‘Your Eyes’ which features a massive Hernan Cattaneo and Lonya remix. Originally released back in January 2015, ‘Your Eyes’ brought together the talents of Javier, Rolando, and Emalaine to huge effect, licensing the track to Armada Music for King Unique’s ‘Beyond Borders mix compilation just a month later – coincidentally, KU was one of the original remixers as well. Fast forward 6 years, and two of the leading pioneers of progressive house add their substantial studio skill to create undoubtedly one of this year’s high points.

Hernan Cattaneo and Lonya interpretation (or remix), opening with liquid cool drums, ‘Your Eyes’ ignites the senses from the off. Keyed sonics add character before delicate bass, orchestral pads and ethereal ad libs take it to the next level. Building throughout, the first break serves only as a brief rest before new melodic ideas emerge and the track takes on a tougher feel. Emalaine’s vocal is treated sparingly giving a far off melancholy air before the final break where it’s let loose for full emotional effect. Sonic mastery, and a secret weapon for many months to come.
