Frequenza drops a new peak-time techno release by Canadian artist Mark Quail whose style mixes harmonic synth lines with driving percussion.

Mark Quail draws inspiration from his Detroit experiences in the ’90s and this former punk rock guitarist and music critic is also a respected electronic music producer and industry professional who runs the renowned Secret Weapon Records and has released on the like of LET’S TECHNO and Jeremy P. Caulfield’s Dumb Unit.

His latest two-track package titled ‘Inspired Malevolence’ sees Mark return to Frequenza following his first release in 2016. Not only has Mark released under numerous aliases such as The Attorney General and The Diamond Dogs, his experience expands to curating compilations that have featured the cream of Chicago, Detroit and Toronto areas mid-2000s techno gurus as well.

“Inspired Malevolence” opens the release with a suspenseful intro that bursts into life with the thundering kick drum and backing bassline under some cosmic synth tones. “Optimal Confusion” has a deeper feeling with dreamy chords and its marching beat that are met later bye haunting harmonics.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Optimal Confusion’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
