Rupert Ellis has emerged as a name to watch both in front of and behind the scenes. Co-founder of the label Circa Groove, an imprint known for releases from artists such as Liquid Earth, Djebali, Terence:Terry:, and Politics Of Dancing, Ellis’ own reputation as an artist and producer has been steadily growing in tandem with releases on Into The Woods and Dansu Discs.

Following his label debut on FUSE’s sister label LOCUS in 2023 with his ‘Raveland’ EP, receiving support from tastemakers including Vlad Caia, Cristina Cons, Janeret, Andrey Pushkarev, D’Julz, and Voigtmann, he now returns to the label for his sophomore outing as he uncovers five fresh cuts on his ‘Midnight Voices’ EP.

Opening with the title track, ‘Midnight Voices,’ Ellis blends cosmic atmospheres with punchy hypnotic grooves that set the tone for the journey ahead. ‘Hackney Rebel’ channels a gritty energy reflective of East London’s nightlife scene, combining skippy rhythms with intricate melodies and zipping bass licks. ‘Time Twister’ takes a more playful turn, delivering a vibrant exploration of warped synths and shimmering pads. ‘Morning Bliss’ shifts gears once again, offering a euphoric and uplifting cut that’s perfect for sunrise moments on the dancefloor before ‘String Killa’ dives into darker territories with its pulsating acid basslines, hard-hitting drums and sweeping strings, rounding out the release with a commanding presence.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Morning Bliss’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
