WAYU Records is proud to present ‘La Bodega,’ a special charity release from German producer Nhii and Dominican vocalist J Feliz. More than a collaboration between two artists, the release represents a collective effort to give back, with 100% of the net proceeds from recording donated to InspireDR, a nonprofit organization dedicated to provide free after-school programs that teach life skills and values, guiding boys in the Dominican Republic to become responsible men, husbands, and fathers.

The project traces its origins to BeatRetreat, where J Feliz participated in a live vocal recording session designed as an educational experience for attendees. Rather than arriving with prepared lyrics, he delivered an energetic freestyle that captured the spontaneity, rhythm, and spirit of Dominican culture.

During the retreat, participants also visited InspireDR, gaining a firsthand understanding of the organization’s work and its lasting impact on the local community. Inspired by the experience, the BeatRetreat team and WAYU Records began exploring whether the recordings could become more than a workshop exercise—and instead be transformed into a release capable of giving back to the very community that inspired it.

The vocal recordings were then shared with Nhii, whose distinctive artistic vision and genre-defying approach to electronic music made him a natural fit for the project. Drawing inspiration from J Feliz’s spontaneous freestyle, Nhii transformed the raw recordings into ‘La Bodega’—a vibrant dancefloor record that blends indie dance, acid-infused synths, organic textures, and unmistakable Caribbean energy while preserving the authenticity and spirit of the original performance.

The release represents a true community effort. Nhii, J Feliz, WAYU Records, and distribution partner Proton have each donated their share of the master royalties, ensuring that every purchase and stream of the recording directly supports InspireDR’s mission.
