Circle of Life keeps the momentum going with ‘Spinning Around’, a new collaboration between Argentine artist Bodaishin and Australian producer Dexter Crowe. The track lands as the second single from Bodaishin’s upcoming debut album, Circles, and marks Dexter’s return to the label following his ‘Secret’ EP.
‘Spinning Around’ was born on a cold winter night in a Montreal studio, during a spontaneous session that ran all the way to sunrise. What started as late night experiments with voices, effects, low end and drums slowly grew into a hypnotic club weapon, shaped by instinct and the easy chemistry of two friends sharing the same room.
Powerful drums and a deep, rolling low end give the track a strong physical backbone built for the dancefloor. Hypnotic plucks and melodic fragments weave through the arrangement, while the duo’s own manipulated vocals and layered effects add texture and a darker, immersive atmosphere. The result constantly shifts between tension, repetition and release, keeping the floor locked in from start to finish.
Within the story of Circles, ‘Spinning Around’ is the moment the fragments start to move. After the introspective opening of the album, stillness gives way to rotation, dynamics and momentum, introducing movement as an instinctive force that begins to take shape.
Born in Buenos Aires, Bodaishin takes his name from a Buddhist idea meaning the awakening of spiritual consciousness, a philosophy that runs through his music and his refusal to be boxed into a single genre. As a driving force behind Circle of Life, he has steered the imprint toward deep, emotive and forward thinking electronic music, and Circles promises to be his most personal statement yet. Dexter Crowe, an Australian artist with strong ties to the Montreal scene, brings his dark, groove focused sensibility to the collaboration, continuing a friendship that extends well beyond the studio. Together they capture exactly what Circle of Life stands for: club energy with a story behind it, and in this case, a piece of one Montreal night preserved in sound.
