OSFUR, UVITA and Lampetee join forces for their debut EP on Damian Lazarus’ iconic Crosstown Rebels with ‘Self Control’, a two tracker that, at its core, challenges the need to always be in control. Arriving on September 18th, this meeting of minds finds a natural home on the label and captures the shared musical language that has grown between the three acts.
While the title track rides a groovy bassline and Joshua Morris’ catchy vocals, the B side ‘Chema’ takes a deeper and more introspective path. Built with brooding sonics, hypnotic rhythms and delicate textures, the track slowly unfolds with a patient, late night tension that keeps you locked in from start to finish. It is the perfect counterpart to close out the EP, and a fine showcase of the moody, detailed sound that has become synonymous with the trio.
Also known together as The Scripture, OSFUR and UVITA have been steadily elevating their presence on the international circuit. Earlier this year, their track ‘Stukk’ on Essential Part climbed to #4 on the Beatport Indie House chart, and they recently played a B2B with Bedouin at their SAGA residency at Club Chinois, as well as a headline show at SAVAYA. Their productions have also received heavy support from names such as Adriatique, Mind Against and Keinemusik.
Joining them are Lampetee, the Greek duo formed by brothers Merter and Mertchan Tzivan Sali. Their sound traverses darker club territory, hypnotic rhythms and a strong focus on groove and progression, with releases on labels like Crib Records, Madorasindahouse Records and Ultra.
Founded by Damian Lazarus in 2003, Crosstown Rebels has spent more than two decades shaping the sound of forward thinking electronic music, championing both established names and new talent across house, techno and everything in between.
