Vini Pistori is one of the most distinctive voices to emerge from Brazill’s electronic music scene. Now based in Lisbon, the self-taught DJ and producer has spent nearly two decades cultivating a sound that draws deeply from the heritage of 90s House and Techno while bringing a warmth and intimacy that is entirely his own. His productions have found homes at respected imprints including Monaberry, Moodmusic, Connected, and Crosstown Rebels, and his DJ sets have taken him across Portugal, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Greece.

Now he returns to Sum Over Histories with ‘Time Bomb’, a four-track EP that channels tension, release, and hypnotic groove in equal measure. Founded by the celebrated duo Frankey and Sandrino, Sum Over Histories has spent a decade defining a very particular strain of electronic music: introverted, emotive, made for closed-eyed dancers. The Berlin-based label has cultivated a loyal following by giving space to artists who treat music as a profound listening experience, and Pistori has long felt at home within that vision.

The premiered track ‘Reveal’ embodies everything that makes this pairing so potent. Percussion ticks with a clockwork precision that keeps the body moving while the mind drifts, and carefully layered synths build a slow-burning tension that never quite resolves until it needs to. There is a cinematic quality to the production, a sense of something about to be uncovered, and Pistori navigates that feeling with a sure hand, allowing space and dynamics to do the heavy lifting.

Across the full EP, ‘Time Bomb’ moves from the urgency of its title track through to the warm, playful invitation of closer ‘You Know Dance’. It is a complete dancefloor journey, one that rewards both the attentive listener and the dancer willing to let go entirely.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Reveal’ exclusively on When We Dip and ‘Time Bomb’ on When We Dip Radio . Enjoy!
