Based in Vancouver, Rasi Z has been quietly building a reputation for deeply immersive productions that balance technical precision with emotional storytelling. Blending analog textures, cinematic melodies, and intricate sound design, his music sits at the intersection of progressive electronic music and introspective listening experiences. With support from respected artists across the global scene and a growing catalogue of refined productions, Rasi Z continues to carve out a distinctive artistic identity rooted in atmosphere, emotion, and sonic detail.

His latest single, ‘Silent Feelings,’ arrives as one of his most personal works to date. Released independently, the track explores the idea of conveying emotion entirely through melody, allowing the music itself to speak without relying on vocals or lyrics. The result is a rich and carefully crafted journey that highlights both his evolving production approach and his passion for storytelling through sound.

As he enters a particularly prolific creative phase, experimenting further with analog equipment while collaborating with vocalists and instrumentalists, we caught up with Rasi Z to discuss the inspiration behind ‘Silent Feelings,’ his evolving creative process, and what listeners can expect from the next chapter of his project.

WWD: For readers discovering your music for the first time, how would you describe the artistic journey that led you to become the producer and DJ you are today?

I’ve always been drawn to storytelling through music. My artistic journey has been about finding ways to merge technical precision with emotion, combining analog synthesis and organic instrumentation to create something that feels deeply human.
Over the years, I’ve focused on developing a sound that balances detailed sound design with emotional depth, allowing each track to tell its own story.

WWD: Your new single, ‘Silent Feelings’, arrives. What inspired the track, and what emotions or atmosphere were you hoping to capture with it?

Silent Feelings was a personal challenge for me. I wanted to tell a complete story purely through melody, without relying on words or vocals to communicate emotion. It took time to shape the main melodic idea because it had to carry the full emotional
weight of the track. The goal was to create something deep and cinematic, a piece that listeners could interpret in their own way while still feeling the emotional narrative behind it.

WWD: Why did you decide to release it as a self-release and not with a label?

Because of how personal this record is to me, I felt it was important to release it independently and on my own terms. Some tracks carry a deeper connection, and Silent Feelings is one of those projects. Releasing it myself allowed me to present it exactly the way I envisioned, at the right moment.

WWD: Your productions are known for blending instruments, vocals, and intricate textures into deeply immersive compositions. How do you approach sound design and arrangement when building a new track?

Every project has its own creative process. With Silent Feelings, I started with the core chord progression because that was the emotional foundation of the track. From there, I built the surrounding story through analog synthesis and detailed sound design, shaping textures that supported the atmosphere. Once that emotional framework was ready, I moved into groove, percussion, and arrangement, carefully structuring everything to make the track feel like a journey from beginning to end.

WWD: With a strong background in audio engineering, how has your technical knowledge influenced the way you produce and refine your music?

What I love most about music production is that there’s no finish line. There is always more to learn and new ways to grow creatively.

WWD: You are based in Vancouver, a city surrounded by nature and a diverse artistic community. How has living there shaped your sound and creative outlook?

Vancouver has definitely shaped my sound. Being surrounded by nature brings a certain calmness and emotion into my music. It’s the kind of place where you can disappear into a small cabin on an island, get lost in the moment, and write stories through music.

WWD: You mentioned being in a particularly productive creative phase, with new collaborations involving vocalists and instrumentalists, as well as a deeper exploration of analog equipment. How has this period changed your approach to making music?

This phase has made me much more intentional with my process. Working with vocalists and instrumentalists has opened new creative directions for me, and diving deeper into analog gear has pushed me to focus more on texture, warmth, and character. It’s made me slow down, trust the process more, and really focus on building music that feels good.

WWD: Looking ahead to the rest of the year, what can listeners expect from you in terms of upcoming releases, collaborations, and new directions for the Rasi Z project?

Since November, I’ve been creating a lot of new music with a fresh perspective and a clearer sense of direction for my project. This summer, I have three more releases planned, starting with “Love Is The Word” this June, followed by a collaborative EP with Solar Kings, and more exciting releases afterward. I feel creatively inspired and can’t wait to share all these new projects with everyone.
