A home solely for his own groove-heavy cuts, Eddy M’s EMrec imprint has quickly become a key extension of the Barcelona-based DJ and producer’s growing arsenal as he continues his evolution as an artist on the rise. Providing a home for the Italian to showcase his signature sound scattered amongst regular stand-out releases via MUSE and Solid Grooves, he returns to the label to serve up two new productions in the form of his ‘Acid Thoughts’ EP.

Slick trademark drum grooves, snaking bass and hooky vocal samples fill title track ‘Acid Thoughts’ to welcome a signature production built for terraces and main rooms, while ‘Self Control’ brings dubby stabs, further skippy percussion and spiralling synths for a deeper, late night excursion.

Eddy’s musical journey began in the town of Palermo in Sicily, Italy, where his love of rhythm and beats saw him play drums in bands since the tender age of twelve. He later graduated to Palermo’s European School of Jazz where he took his talent to the next level by studying piano, guitar and percussion.

Eddy began producing in 2010, taking inspiration from his classical training and influence from his love for the old school, particularly 90’s hip hop in the form of Cypress Hill, Tribe Called Quest and Ice Cube, to create his own unique form of tech house and techno.

To celebrate the release of ‘Acid Thoughts EP’, Eddy M recorded a new exclusive mix for our Select Cuts series. Enjoy!
