Something special happened when LA-based producer / DJ Lubelski’s Happy Accidents LP was released into the world at the end of 2021. Clubland opened its doors wide, left-of-center modular soundscapes permeated its dancefloors, and some of the biggest artists in the world cranked the tunes from sunup to sundown. In its wake, a madman synth-nerd stepped into the spotlight and the next chapter of Lubelski’s sometimes silly, always thoughtful, and never predictable performances took over DJ booths far and wide.

Now Lubelski shifts his attention to curating the Happy Accidents Remix LP with the same care and rejection of the rules that the original represented. He’s tapped some of his foremost inspirations like Roman Flugel and Skream, underground icons du jour Nikki Nair, AK Sports, and Black Loops, super-risers Yulia Niko, Maxinne, and Mary Droppinz, plus some of his best buds in the studio and beyond like PILO, Troy Kurtz, Danny Golliger, RYBO, Whereisfenix, and Red Eye.

This is the type of multi-genre, no holds barred, smack-you-over-the-head curation that anyone who’s caught a Lubelski set over the last year knows well. Fun, credible and creative – it’s a party baby.

Maxinne has been quite a force to reckon with, having made quite some impact in the last few short years. Maxinne has garnered a catalogue of her own productions, with exclusive releases out on Toolroom, Knee Deep In Sound, Circus Recordings, Criminal Hype, and Saved Records. Her releases gain regular support from Marco Carola, Luciano, Hot Since 82, Yousef, Eats Everything, Diplo, Solardo and Danny Howard with regular support on BBC Radio 1. Maxinne’s musical inspirations are heavily influenced by the island with her driving soulful grooves drawing from her youth listening to garage, hip-hop and R&B on heavy rotation.

“I’ve absolutely loved being part of this project. The vocal in the original grabbed me straight away when I heard it. I definitely had the dance floor in mind when making this and thought about how it would fit into my DJ sets. I’m loving breakdowns at the moment with different synth elements that build up to create suspense, so I worked this into the remix and I’m really happy with how it’s turned out.” – Maxinne

You can now listen to the full premiere of Maxinne’s remix exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
