Millero is back on Renaissance Records with Yamagucci in tow… One of Renaissnce’ favorite label family members returns with ‘Lonely Tree EP’, a 3-track player that once again highlights the Israeli’s distinct sound; equal parts indie, house and funk, it’s all glued by an infectious groove designed to sway even the most stubborn of dancefloors.

First up is ‘Told You So’, which is arguably the most powerful in the EP trilogy and a very appropriate way to kick things off. “I felt it was important to present ‘Told You So’ first,” confirms Roy, AKA Millero, “it was produced with that 3AM sweet spot firmly in mind; the moment everyone’s finally in the club, but haven’t begun to filer out yet. Literally peak time in every sense of the word and quite deliberately so.”

Next comes the much anticipated return of a Yamagucci collaboration, which follows-up their Maccabi mega-hit, ‘Follow The Hihat’. “We knew we wanted to produce a sequel to ‘Hihat’”, Millero continues, “we’d been in the studio playing around with a groove, talking it through and suddenly, for some reason, Yamagucci said, ‘fake it till you make it’. I instantly knew that was it and made him record it as a vocal there and then. Everything else dropped into place after that. It’s quite simple, but incredibly infectious – the EP’s biggest earworm I think.”

Rounding out the release is title track ‘The Lonely Tree’, which allows the strings to unwind slightly with a haunting falsetto melody and beautiful piano mid. It brings a welcome note of diversity to proceedings and is a tune that suits sunset and sunrise moments perfectly. “I play a lot of open air events here in Israel and many of them run to 7AM or beyond. I’ve been dropping ‘Lonely Tree’ as dawn breaks and it works a treat,” Roy aptly concludes.
