Prague-based duo M.O.S. return to their own Melody Of The Soul imprint with ‘Music Matters’, a two-track EP landing on October 22nd that once again shows why the label has become one of the most trusted addresses for deep, emotive progressive house. We are delighted to premiere ‘Inka’, the solo cut from the release.

Paul and Ilia, the two producers behind M.O.S., have spent the past few years building a reputation that stretches across the melodic spectrum. Their music has found a home on Anjunadeep, Colorize, UV and All Day I Dream, and their Balance Selections mix gave a clear picture of how wide their range is, from organic, sun-drenched grooves to full-blooded progressive. In 2020 they launched Melody Of The Soul, and the Czech label has since grown into one of the most consistent catalogues in the genre, welcoming the likes of Rauschhaus, Jamie Stevens, Zankee Gulati, PROFF, Oliver & Tom and Yoni Yarchi along the way. ‘Music Matters’ arrives as catalogue number MOTS077, a nice milestone for a label that keeps raising its own bar.

On ‘Inka’, M.O.S. go deep and groove-driven. A rolling low end and tight percussion set the pace, while a subtle melodic thread weaves its way through the arrangement, surfacing a little more each time the track opens up. Rather than relying on a single big moment, the duo let the production evolve dynamically, adding and stripping back layers so that the energy builds patiently from start to finish. It is a cut made for the heart of a set, equally at ease during a sunset session or in the small hours of a club night.

Completing the EP, the title track ‘Music Matters’ sees M.O.S. join forces with German veteran D-Nox, the Düsseldorf-born producer behind the Sprout imprint and one half of D-Nox & Beckers, whose discography spans Bedrock, Sudbeat and Suara. Together they head into darker and more atmospheric territory, building slowly towards a powerful closing section. The two productions complement each other perfectly and make ‘Music Matters’ a strong addition to the Melody Of The Soul story.

You can now listen to the full premiere of ‘Inka’ exclusively on When We Dip. Enjoy!
