Multi-instrumentalist, singer, and producer Mindchatter is having a blistering 2022. Fresh off the heels of his acclaimed sophomore album, DREAM SOUP (which EDM.com hailed as one of the ‘22 Game-Changing Electronic Albums coming in 2022’), Mindchatter headlined his own North American tour which stopped through New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago in addition to marking his Coachella debut.

Mindchatter’s expedient upward trajectory continues with his new collaboration alongside South African house music producer Kyle Watson “Let’s Go Dancing,” a track that pushes Mindchatter’s sound further into proper club-ready territory.

“I initially reached out to Kyle about doing a remix of a song from Imaginary Audience, but after connecting we both felt a collaboration would be more interesting. There was a demo I was sitting on for years but didn’t love the production on it and knew Kyle could help bring it to life.” – Mindchatter

“Mindchatter is one of the most unique voices in electronic music right now so it was great to come together on this record. I love the contrast in this collab, the way his voice plays off the pulsating bassline just works so well.” – Kyle Watson

Stemming from a demo Mindchatter sent to Kyle Watson, ‘Let’s Go Dancing’ is the inaugural collaboration between the two artists and intricately combines each of their signature sounds. Showcasing a hypnotizing instrumental that fuses Mindchatter’s brand of psychological, vocal-driven dance flair with Watson’s driving deep house and techno sonics,’Let’s Go Dancing’ blends moody, indie-pop sensibilities with an industrial electronic spin.

‘Let’s Go Dancing’ kicks off with jazzy piano chords and stuttering house high-hats, slowly building by adding thumping kick drums and dystopian synth pads. Mindchatter then comes in with his typically airy vocal delivery, imbuing the track’s futuristic electronic atmosphere with a grounded, human touch.

“I got nowhere I can stand, and so I dance,” he sings as the beat drops into an apocalyptic dancefloor frenzy, with percussive swipes swirling with truncated vocal chops, brooding, distorted bass synth melodies, and an intoxicating house beat.

‘Let’s Go Dancing’ is a compulsive experience: its elements mix for a dance-infused, forlorn pop song, beckoning the listener to move as if it’s their last option to feel free. In Mindchatter’s vision of social alienation and stagnation, perhaps it is.
